I don’t know how she does it … Jodie has sourced another
fantastic challenge for University of Birmingham students.
This is a genuine chance for our students to leave a lasting
legacy in Birmingham and it’s a real buzz to be part of it. You may have heard of the Birmingham Dogs’ Home, who rescue
and rehome unwanted dogs, and their Healing Hearts campaign, to raise money for
the Dogs’ Home’s new veterinary clinic.
Last year, they spent an eye-watering £230,000 on vets’ bills and the
climbing costs prompted them to start thinking about running a clinic of their
own.
The vision was to create an on-site clinic to best meet the
medical needs of newly rescued dogs and then look after their health for the
rest of their lives because the needs of rescue dogs can be more specialised. Not only will they be able to provide
outstanding medical care to dogs in need, but they will also save an enormous
amount of money by keeping veterinary care in-house.
So where do UoB students fit into this plan?
The new clinic will need a name, a brand and the structure
for a website.
The staff and volunteers at the Dogs’ Home are passionately
committed to their charity, its valuable work, and its place in our
community. They want the best for their
new clinic and so they have asked UoB students to work in teams as marketing
consultants.
of students have signed up for the challenge.
During the month of October, they will be researching their market and constructing
their brand in time to present their marketing package to representatives from
the Dogs’ Home in November.
One of our teams could be about to change the face of
Birmingham Dogs’ Home!
